“I had to remind myself to breathe, you completely captivated my attention, my emotions and I sat here with tears running down my cheeks. It is a genuine statement to say that I hadn’t heard that poem properly until that moment."

Bryony Stockdale-Wiffen, Freelance Events & Community Engagement Coordinator.

Brynamman Christmas Craft Fair - December 2023

We met the Charity Brynamman Lido at the Brynamman Christmas Craft fair 2023 as fellow stall holders. As we found the story of the Lido in Brynamman that this charity is preserving and promoting is fascinating, a story of Community, a haven for those in times of hardship and war as well as those who seek to improve their well being. Through showing examples of our work to members of this impressive charity, especially to Bryony who spoken with us the most on the day, we planned to met up and discuss business and how we can help in their cause.

Business meeting April 2024

Through message and email exchanges, initial ideas were drawn up on how we would be substantiated how to work with each other ready for our  in-person meeting.

Through notes made during the craft fair, the exchanges so far and using the the key resources that available on the Brynamman Lido charity Website (The Pwll Nofio Poem) We were able to produce a music demo, using the historical Poem as Narration.

The three demos of music was produced to put forward to Bryony and to the Committee. The first was inspired by Brass bands that are associated with miners, second inspired using sounds of harps, synths and cajons. The thirds originally was created as an idea back in 2020, as an unpublished idea. This musical idea it was believed with a re-arrangement of different instruments, new parts and harmonies fit in presenting the poem beautifully . Once sent out, Bryony and the Committee well very impressed with drafted demo's settled with the third demo. By created the music beforehand, this enabled much more possibilities to be discussed for potential future projects and how to utilize what we have created thus far.

With numerous ideas that will be done at various stages with the restoration of Brynamman Lido, we agreed to refine the music using community members to do the narration and additional voiced parts. As well as to create a Art Mural in collaboration with Art of Eco Ltd.
